MAG Deploying to 2010? Meeting Up with Bioshock 2 for a Latte?

london

I sort of hate the useless moniker AAA title, which exists solely for fanboys to toss at each other in message board poop fights.  But with the rumor of Sony’s humongous online shooter slipping to 2010 I think there is a viable question of the number of heavy hitter games landing on consoles this year.

Perhaps we’ve been spoiled by 2008′s gargantuan year, but the forecast does look a mite slim, especially when you consider Bioshock 2 was bumped (much to the chagrin of Take2′s stock holders).

What’s remains out there, calling to you for your money?  Me–Uncharted 2 tops the list, followed by Splinter Cell Conviction and Scribblenauts and maybe Bayonetta.  But that’s it for Day 1 purchases methinks…

My deck is still pretty stacked. Uncharted 2, Halo 3 ODST, Dragon Age: Origins, Alpha Protocol, American version of Demon’s Souls, Brutal Legend, Assassin’s Creed on PSP and Assassin’s Creed II.

Plus there’s Batman: Arkham Asylum at the end of August.

This kind of stuff happens every year – you always lose a few to the following year when the fall is so loaded.

If you were a slobbering Nintendo fan like I am, you’d have New Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Bowser’s Inside Story, the new Professor Layton, and the Metroid Prime Trilogy to look forward to.

What about Assassin’s Creed 2 or Mass Effect 2? Are you interested in either of those?

Besides, there’s Scribblenauts which…oh, wait. That’s on your list. A DS game? You put a DS game on your must-have list!? I’d better get my umbrella out of the closet if it’s gonna start raining blood and frogs.

Yep Erich, that sounds like my list too, Metroid Prime Trilogy tops it. I’ll also be picking up Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Red Steel 2, Halo 3: ODST, Uncharted 2, and also I’ve decided to pick up a DSi. That’s a lot of gaming after looking at it all nice and typed out.

Hey what can I can I say, I’m just not feeling overwhelmed. Batman could definitely be a winner and Halo ODST, too. There’s some other stuff I’m interested in like Brutal Legend and Demon’s Souls, but those are games I’m going to hold off until I get more info.

I’m just talking Day 1 purchases here, more or less proven commodities (Uncharted) or compelling premises (Scribblenauts, Conviction).

And yes a DS game is probably my most anticipated game this fall. Also I think you can actually summon blood and frogs to rain from the sky in that game.

True, with the exception of the DSi those are all day one purchases for me. I also forgot to add Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and Star Wars: Republic Heroes. I’ve been following those pretty close, and both look like a fun time to be had.
