It was a horribly kept rumor, but finally Sony has spilled the beans about both it’s svelte new PS3, a handsome devil for sure, and price cuts to its bloated siblings. The slim comes with a 120GB hard drive and a $299 price tag. The 80 gigger has been chopped to $299 and the 160 GB will retail at $399. Not bad and overdue.
This is no doubt music the ears of third party developers and, I would guess, anyone on the fence over dipping into Sony’s pool.

I’ll be the one to say it first: it’s still too expensive.
I’m all for the price cut, and it’s great to see, but it’s still noticeably more expensive than all its competition currently on the market (and why the heck would the 80GB be priced the same as the new sexy 120GB version? FAIL)
It’s definitely a step in the right direction, but Sony’s got some sprinting to do.
