This one’s been the comment bait around the video game ‘sphere. Reuters is coughing up speculation about a possible buy-out from Microsoft. Crazy if it’s true, for sure and brings up all kinds of questions.
What does that mean for Madden’s NFL exclusivity? Would EA’s cross-platform juice be nixed? How–precisely–is one Peter Moore involved? Feel free to fan the flames below.

Anything but good news for PS3 fans and gamers in general. This would pretty much put the brakes on the “New EA” in hard and fast fashion. EA has been siphoning money into new IP’s with AAA production values (see Dead Space, Army of Two, and Dante’s Inferno) while Microsoft has been nickel and diming their core studios to death while shelling out massive quid for exclusive DLC content and more premium crap they can charge us for.
I also can’t see microsoft taking a billion dollar hit to snap up EA. That’s a company that’s still worth a LOT of scratch. Is it really worth it for sports exclusives and Bioware?
