Dave and Tim join Erich for the last BLAST PROCESSING! before E3 2010. After talking about the Halo Reach beta, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Splinter Cell: Conviction co-op, Super Street Fighter IV, and Alan Wake, the crew looks forward to next week’s game-stravaganza. It’s like Christmas Eve in podcast form, except that it’s warm outside and you don’t have to wear those itchy wool pajamas if you don’t want to.

Is Prince of Persia the Next Pirates of the Carribbean or Alone in the Dark?

By now you’ve likely seen these teaser posters for the 2010 release of Jerry Bruckheimer’s big-screen adaptation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

I think they look pretty good actually, and Jake Gyllenhaal is about as Persia-ry as I would expect.  Is it enough to get your blood up for the film?

I still have big doubts.

While Sands of Time was one of my favorite games of the last generation, I am flummoxed how it will make the transition to movie-land.  Will the audience glom on to the charm (if it remains intact in the transition) that made the game so memorable, without defaulting to a “Wow, that’s a rip-off of Aladdin!” mindset?

And is the platforming going remain?  Who here’s up to see Jake Gyllenhall staddle a pillar?
